This video is a tribute to one of my all-time favorite video predictors and historians, Ken Burns. I wanted to incorporate his use of voice-over and classic music, as well as the infamous "Ken Burns effect." I modeled the video after the intro of his 1992 documentary, "The Civil War." However, I used video footage rather than stills, since the Civil War did not have any video. I found the footage-- a 1964 USDA documentary about rural poverty in the United States-- through the Internet Archives. It incorporates both my appreciation for Ken Burn's as well as my passion for United States history. Below you will find the video that I modeled my own video after.
